Augmented Defender
A mixed-reality firearms practice game for Meta Quest, by Augmented Defense. Your home becomes the course: you move on your own feet, draw, reload and rack the slide, with no live ammunition.
Try it with the controllers you already have. It's a one-time purchase, a low-risk way to start compared with subscription training apps. Let us prove its value to you before you spend anything on hardware.
On the Meta Quest store. One-time purchase, no subscription.

Your real room behind the line. A virtual range in front of it.
Augmented Defender is mixed reality. You see your own home through the headset and move through it on your own feet, and the range appears past the firing line. That's why some pictures show a real room and others show only the range: they're the two sides of the line.
Behind the line: real
Passthrough shows your real room. You move on your own feet, around your real walls and furniture: no teleporting, no thumbstick walking.
Past the line: virtual
Downrange is a virtual range, so a target can stand at 5, 15 or 25 m, well past your living-room wall.
Blended, safely
Walls and furniture fade so you can see the range, and come back in full up close. The game warns you if you step past the line. In Target Practice, targets can also stand in your own rooms, behind your real cover.

Drills
A built-in drill library: warm-ups, recoil control, reloads and manipulations, target and weapon transitions, barricades, and drills adapted from military and law-enforcement qualification courses. Every string is timed and scored, many with par times.
- Start from the holster or face away to begin
- Rifle-to-pistol transitions
- Physical magazine changes: drop, seat, work the slide
- Forced reloads and barricade positions that keep you moving

Target Practice
Build your own courses in your space from paper targets, steel, moving targets and barriers, then run them against the clock. Save them and come back to beat your time.
- Course builder with paper, steel, movers and barriers
- Shooting areas: move box to box along laid-out lanes, and stepping over a fault line costs you

Randomized Targets
Place your targets once, mark some as friendly no-shoots, then let the game decide which ones go live each run. You can't memorize it, so you have to read and decide.
- Easy, medium and hard: more targets go live as it gets harder
- Optional friendly no-shoot targets

Zombies
Pressure practice: zombies find their way through your real doorways and come for you. Move, reload and decide under stress, without the stakes.

Requirements
- Meta Quest 3 or 3S recommended, for full-color passthrough. Quest Pro works. Quest 2 works, but its passthrough is black and white only.
- At least 3 × 3 m (about 10 × 10 ft) of clear floor, with Space Setup done. You move with your feet: there's no teleporting or thumbstick walking.
- House-scale play is supported with proper setup: map your rooms, doors and windows in the game's Room Setup, and it can use your whole home.
- Quest controllers. More supported hardware.
- Strongly recommended once you're training regularly: a holster and inert, weighted training magazines, so your draws and reloads use the real motion.
