Been gone a while? There's a lot to try.
This is the biggest Augmented Defender update yet: a full drill library, agency-style qualification courses, ready-to-run Target Practice courses that auto-fit your room and are yours to customize, barriers and cover, ringing steel, hostage targets, and analytics that show you why each shot went where it did.
Try it with the controllers you already have. It's a one-time purchase, a low-risk way to start compared with subscription training apps. Let us prove its value to you before you spend anything on hardware.
Your real room behind the line. A virtual range in front of it.
Augmented Defender is mixed reality. You see your own home through the headset and move through it on your own feet, and the range appears past the firing line. That's why some pictures show a real room and others show only the range: they're the two sides of the line.
Behind the line: real
Passthrough shows your real room. You move on your own feet, around your real walls and furniture: no teleporting, no thumbstick walking.
Past the line: virtual
Downrange is a virtual range, so a target can stand at 5, 15 or 25 m, well past your living-room wall.
Blended, safely
Walls and furniture fade so you can see the range, and come back in full up close. The game warns you if you step past the line. In Target Practice, targets can also stand in your own rooms, behind your real cover.
A drill library to grow into
Warm-ups, trigger control, draws, reloads, transitions, cover, pressure and decisions, in three tabs: Drills, Fundamentals and Speed & Precision.
- Every stage drawn on its card, so you see the layout before you start
- Filter by gun and by target, and follow training tracks from the basics up
- The announcer reads each drill and stage aloud, then waits for you before the beep
- The 21-Foot Drill: an attacker charges from 21 feet, ahead, to the side or from behind

Shoot the standard
20 agency-style qualification courses for pistol and rifle, run string by string with a pass or fail at the end.
- The announcer calls every string: the start, rounds, time, hand and cover
- Holster, low ready and ready between strings, and a retry when a task isn't passed
- Shoot from your room into a virtual range: your real space stays behind the line
Course names describe the published qualification standard each course is modeled on. Augmented Defense is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any agency, academy or military service, and these courses are not official qualifications.

Courses ready to drop into your space
27 ready-made courses, each designed for a kind of space, from a 2 × 2 m corner to an open field. Pick one that fits, and set it down where you'll shoot.
- Place targets anywhere in your house, and use your real walls, doorways and furniture as cover and concealment as you move through and engage
- Point at the floor, set the course down and turn it; it's saved for your room
- Fit it for me: shooting boxes that land on furniture move to the nearest clear spot
- Shooting boxes with fault lines, and lanes you walk between them
- Engagement order, guided or from memory
- Learn mode lights the way; Perform mode is just you and the timer
- Build your own, with a voiced step-by-step tutorial for your first course

Cover that counts
Barriers are hard cover. A round that goes through one still flies on, but its hits don't score, so you have to shoot around cover the right way.
- Walls with ports, slots and low walls to shoot over
- Your house walls act like real drywall: concealment, not cover
- Plywood splinters when you hit it

Steel that rings, and targets that make you think
Speed & Precision brings three steel targets and a range partner who calls the plates. Every plate swings on its own hinge and rings its own note.
- The Precision Ladder, the Zone Plate Silhouette and the Window Silhouette
- Calls by colour, shape, number or letter, then thinking drills with rules to work out before you shoot
- Hostage targets: a hostage card held over the target, and a steel hostage with a swinging head paddle
- Movers and activators: hit the popper and the flip-up comes alive
- Real holes in cardboard, sparks off steel, and neutralized targets that blow apart (you can turn that off)

See why each shot went where it did
Every run is timed and recorded shot by shot. When it ends, the results panel shows where the time went and what your sights did as each shot broke. A coach picks the one thing to work on next, and practice runs never count against your bests.

Every shot on a timeline
From the beep to the last hit: the draw, every split, each transition and the reload, timed, with your best run ghosted behind it.

Hits where they landed, in order
Every hit numbered on its target in the order you fired, with the order you engaged the targets and the time between them.

Where the time went
This run against your best, part by part, so you know whether to work on the draw, your splits, your transitions or the reload.

What happened on each shot
The path of your sights before, during and after the break, how you pressed the trigger, and a plain-language read of what moved the shot.

The pattern behind your misses
Shots grouped by where they went, with the cause behind each group and the points it cost you.

How you shoot under thought
In the thinking drills: how much each level of rule slows you down, and the point where your hits start to drop.
Built around your real rooms, safely
Augmented Defender knows your walls, doors and furniture, and keeps them in view.
- A step-by-step Room Setup guide, and house-scale play once your rooms are mapped
- Fade walls and furniture to see targets past them; they come back up close, so you never walk into them
- Drills clear everything in front of the firing line, and warn you if you step past it
- A warning before the beep when your walls hide targets
- The minimap shows the course as well as threats
- A new-player walkthrough that sets up your controller or stock in a few minutes
Your data stays on your headset. Your room scans, profiles, the Target Practice courses you build or place, and your run history and stats are all stored locally. None of it is sent to us. Game privacy policy
